Business Compliance and Startup Essentials In-Person

This workshop will help local entrepreneurs and small business owners understand the legal and administrative requirements to properly start and operate a business. Too many small businesses are excluded from opportunities not because of lack of talent, but because they don’t have the correct paperwork or structure. This session offers clarity, guidance, and actionable next steps to correct that.

Workshop Goals

1. Help participants understand their correct legal business classification and how it affects registration, taxes, and insurance.

2. Provide each participant with a checklist that outlines what’s required for their specific business type.

3. Ensure business owners leave with confidence and the tools to become vendor-ready, compliant, and structured for long-term growth.

This is a starter session, designed to educate and equip—not to complete all paperwork in the room. Participants will leave with a personalized compliance checklist and the knowledge of what to do next.

Topics Covered:

  • Understanding Legal Classifications
  • State and Federal Setup
  • City and County Requirements
  • Insurance Guidance
  • Vendor Readiness Essentials
